Re: Game rendering error
Have you tried it in a different machine?

Re: Game rendering error
If it starts out ok and plays for a while, then it starts happening, it's likely to be a heat problem and underclocking the card may help
If it's like that from the very start, there is a good chance the card it's self is on it's way out...
You can try reinstalling the drivers for the card and see if that helps, but it's a long shot...

Re: Game rendering error
I will try reinstalling the drivers, Outher then that No, the game never starts out like that its usally mid game when it hapens i have downloaded ati tool and im going to try and underclock it as suggested, how much are we talking of, 1% or 10%? (if it was ur card)

Re: Game rendering error
if it was my card... I would make a note of the current settings, then underclock it as much as physically possible... ie, all the way, as slow as it will go...
Test it and see if you still get the same fault.
Then increase the clock to 50% of what it was originally, before you started, test again, and keep going until you find the point at which it runs without error...
You may find it will still corrupt even at the slowest setting, in which case, I would take the side off my case and make sure the fan is working ok on the graphic card...
Good luck

Re: Game rendering error
I would query overheating. Does this happen immediately, or when you're taxing the GPU by running a game?

Re: Game rendering error
Old TIM from manufacturers is pretty naff and tends to harden over time with the potential to cause problems.
If it was me I'd expect overheating/dying card. First off remove the card and disassemble the cooler. Carefully scrape off and remove all the hardened thermal paste (TIM) that is on the GPU core (I find a shrp blade, steady hand and a bit of isopropyl alcohol does the job). Check the ram thermal pads at the same time. Then use some thermal paste on the GPU and reseat the cooler. Then run the PC again to see if you get issues.

Re: Game rendering error
wow, Im surprised your suggesting major surgery as a first port of call... undeclocking the card should confirm if it's a heat related issue or not, from what he said, it starts out ok then after a while he gets corruption, certainly seems heat related but I don't know if I would want to go ripping it to bits without checking other things first, seems a bit drastic to me lol...
Furthermore, I don't consider the 1900xt as an 'old' card, certainly not old enough to be suffering from dried up TIM. I have an 1800xt with the stock cooler, this rig is on 24/7 and I have never had an issue with corruption or TI material failure....
We don't even know how old his 1900xt is....
It may indeed be a TIM issue, but if it were me, I would be trying other things before resorting to surgery on the card, it could still be within warranty for all we know...

Re: Game rendering error
Check for dust blocking the cooling vents on your card. My previous 9800XT started showing similar problems, and I just had to (carefully) use a paper clip to poke the build up of dust away.
