its already 7zipped which gives better compression than rar...

i guess i will have to go the DVD and and royal mail route, still cant beat the bandwidth of a sneakernet, terrible latencies though

    thanks everyone!

edit: yes, i forgot to mention, i want to do this as cheaply as possible... spending >£30 on an external hard drive is just unrealistic for some fraps footage...

lol, he means rar it using the store method, ie split it into dvd parts. its the same as splitting it but everyone has winrar so its simple.

IIRC, 264 can do lossless? Check it out
That way you would be able to compress it with no loss in quality.

If it can't and I'm mistaken, there is other codecs that can

    WinRAR

I'm assuming hes on Windows and he has WinRAR and so does his friend and if his friend doesn't then he can get a free evaluation from WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files

Not everyone will have WinRAR. Not most. Not even many. About 5% of PCs tops I would imagine. 7-zip will decompress RAR anyway. Much, much better value.

i prefer the winrar interface and shell integration. plus rar is leader mostly so when i mean rar i mean by any means. if you got 7-zip then 7-zip it into dvd sized parts. if it can split that is.
