HJSplit is free and will easily and simply split any file for you into whatever size parts you want.
So if you've got your 12gig big .7z file, you can split it easily.

Or you could try compressing with uharc...Gets better compression than rar or 7zip.

If you have a fixed IP address then you could set up your PC as an ftp server - Win XP lets you do this, depends what OS you are using but not difficult. Might be useful in future if you are planning on doing this regularly.

As I pointed out earlier , the limiting factor will be the ADSL upload speed. At 1Mb/s, it would take over 24 hours to upload 11.5GB.

As Nacomach said (before he edited his post ) post or courier.
Or even ADSL2+ bethere 1.3Mbps upload speed, but bare in mind that using your internet connection so much will probably cause your ISP's Fair Usage Policy to take place.

Send a few DVDs is best!

Re: how to send a 11.5gb file to somone?

On a semi-related matter I VNC'd what must have been about 14gb from my work PC to my HTPC over the Christmas holidays as I'd brought the wrong videos back for the 2nd half of the panto DVD I was editing. Can't remember how long it took (was certainly more than 24hr), but I was rather thankful our work line had a 2mb upload on it!
