    Accessing another comp thru wireless

Well.. i use wireless on my laptop. but im wondering if i can access the other computer which uses the internet ;p

Sorta take control.. or even just access files on it would be fine...

Also, is it possible to send a print thru wireless to the oher computer so it prints?

(Note - My other computr doesnt have wireless.. just connected thru a router which happens to be wireless)

If they are both WinXp then remote desktop to control is easy and share folders to access the files (tbh you can do all that on Vista i think)

It should still work. I can't comment personally on Vista, but I have done the same using a machine on XP & one on Win 2K.

If you remote desktop from Vista to XP, you get a message complaining about differing RDC versions, but it works as it should anyway.

File sharing (IIRC) is fine from Vista to XP, but takes a bit of fiddling to get it to work from XP to Vista.
Also, sharing a printer connected to an XP machine from a Vista one can also have issues (as I found out when I tried to set it up for someone)

Re: Accessing another comp thru wireless

Theres a simple easy to use network wizard in windows that can set up the workgroups, save the configuration to a usb drive then let you set up your other pc's to match. Once you have a network you neeed to share the drives or folders you want to access setting permissions if wanted.

You can also print from one machine to the other. the PC without printer should pick up the drivers from the other PC.

Does it allways work that easy No but often its fine.
