    Gaming Mouse

Would like some advice please, I am looking for the best gaming mouse. I have just bought the Logitech G9 and I'am afraid to say I did'nt like it and is now on ebay. This mouse was so hard to setup and fine tune.

Yeah the X063X is the one to get. Failing that try one of the razer models the death adder is good or the new lachesis for a bit more cash.

518 si a top all rounder indeed, but I favour a Habu, top rodent, if a bit over priced.

    Its all personal preference.
Ive just gone from a MX518 to a Razer Deathadder and couldn't go back - but that's purely down to the way it fits in my hand. The MX518 is a fine mouse.

Oh Intellimouse Explorer V3, how people mock and overlook your simplistic ways, then realise that you are infact the greatest mouse of all time and are still used by many top players in the world after all these years, forgoeing fancy gimmickry for sheer ergonomic comfort and precision. Plus you are only twenty quid, you cheap venereal disease carrying street whore!

I'm happy with the new MX-518 I've just bought, though it's a touch on the small side for my hands and lord knows who wants to have it set to it's maximum sensitivity, shoots around like a rocket

    Re: Gaming Mouse

I'm happy with my cheap labtec USB optical mice (between £5 and £10)!
A mate of mine swears by trackballs though - but as Logitech are the only people who distribute them in the UK, it costs around £50 for one with a scroll wheel!

Is the new razer lachesis better than the death adder? In which case the lachesis would be the way to go?

In my opinion no. 1800dpi is enough for anyone. The rest is just a gimmick...

    Re: Gaming Mouse

I'm a bit of a gamer myself and I've owned every 'big' gamer mouse. I took a look at the g9 and tbh it looked ridiculous to me, I'm not surprised you didnt like it, one to skip I suspect

I started out with a Microsoft explorer 3.0. This was/is a beautiful mouse for gaming, great ergonomics but the wheel on it is awful and wears out quite fast. Its also very nice for surfing, as I used to use its thumb buttons for min/maximise.

I then moved between a few different razer models (the opticals). I love the razers but I never did like the button layout much, even after using it a year or so. Its also a bit crap for every day computer use, not a lot of functionality beyond being 'superfast gamer' balls out mice.

My current gaming mouse, and imo the best gaming mouse ever made, is a logitech g7 wireless.

I was always skeptical about wireless mice, but I can honestly say its just as sensitive and as accurate as any of my razers, and the ergonomics on it are beautiful for a right hander (as nice as the explorer3 was, back in the day).

Its wheel is superb, its sensitivity buttons are placed perfectly and after having one I'm honestly waiting for the day another gaming grade wireless is made, because not having a wire attached is unbelievably liberating. In addition to all this I use its l/r wheel function for min/maximise very comfortably.

The battery is often a concern for wireless mice, but in the g7 logitech give you two, so you can swap them out whenever you want, I've never been out of power.

I'd recommend a g7 to anyone, dont fear the wireless, its a whole different animal to those office-targeted pieces of crap you see all over the place.
