What's the best way to find motherbaord make/model without opening the PC?

    Hi all,

I'm about to get hold of a friend's laptop to fix it for her (network socket is no longer being detected after a reinstall) but have no details on the laptop spec. Assuming it's not an easily identifibale model, such as a Dell, what's the best way to find out the motherboard details so I can get the correct drivers?

    Thanks.

    Or Everest

Any of the above utilities will do the job, CPUz suggested by Workaholic, is a great little 'no install required' program that runs from the folder you unzip it to, while Everest is a full featured program that can run bench testing and check for many things more than CPUz can, but it requires an install. I don't know anything about Belarc personally, but Im sure it's up to the job too...

It depends if you want to 'install' something or not, and just how much information your looking for....

Turns out it was a Dell, and I had it fixed within 5 mins.

    Cheers though.
