9800 Pro - Is It Broke?

Need some advice please,

bought a second hand Radeon 9800 Pro and a couple of other bits from a bloke on another forum and I'm having problems with the graphics card.

1. Apart from ATI Tool anything else I can use to test the card?

2. When I use ATI T and Scan for Artifacts, the screen artifacts and then goes blank and monitor goes in to standby. Can't wake it up so have to switch the computer off or reset it. If I press the power button and release it, computer does shut down properly (i.e. not immediately)

3. Other tests I've tried from ATI T seem cause same problems as in point 2.

Is it broke?

Don't have any games, the most stressing ones I know are the C Beebies ones

I was going to download 3dmark until I realised it was 580MB, I'd be capped at around 400MB (Virgin 2MB) so may try another day.
