over clocking asus commando problems

hi new user just built this system as follows asus commando main board with bios update to 1601 4 gig ocz 8500 sli memory intel E7650 asus en 8800gt ocz gamers 700 watt psu 320 gig hard drive cooler master gemini cpu cooler and coolermaster wave master case with nvidia side panel. my problem is every overclock ive tried has resulted in instability either freezing on the desk top to freezing when gaming and some times just wont even boot also cannot set my memory to the rated 8500 any help appreciated thanx
