Question printer sharing grrr.pos ZA problem?

I'm getting well angry.I've done this years ago on sygate but not zone alarm...
basically the pc in the other room with the printer is just using windows firewall...
i've allowed it to share the printer given it a normal short name...
then gone into this pc and looked and it finds the pc but not the printer:|
and then i added all the ip addresses on my router to trusted and made sure the zone alarm settings were on high and the second one medium:S
and i can't get it to pick up the printer.
its on usb if that makes a difference:S

Good riddance. Wish I'd done it about a year ago.

Is file and printer sharing enabled through Windows Firewall? Are both PCs in the same workgroup?

Also - if you're as angry as you say about this I strongly recommend chilling out a bit. High blood pressure is really bad for you, especially at this time of year

make them the same workgroup, just to eliminate the possibility that that could be the problem

Try disabling both firewalls and then enable them in turn to try and isolate where the problem is, then you'll need to work through on that machine to open things up till the printer can be browsed.

I sounds like there is still a problem but have you manually tried adding the printer?

Start, run, \\compname\printer will do the trick if its there
