More silverstone TJ09 woes, need advice.
Getting mental vibrations from my TJ09, its brand new, the hdd's are samsung spinpoints,, cooler is freezer pro 7, fans are sharkoon golf ball 120mm jobbies, a coolermaster LED, and the stock 120mm at the rear, i can feel it through desk and when downstairs in the living room and pc is on upstairs its like a loud humming noise, kinda makes watchin tv downstairs unwatchable.
HELP !!!!!
My desk looks something like this, would the fact that it has no legs only solid wood sides going from the top to the floor make a difference ?

hey mod, where is he case on the floor or on top of the desk? i noticed i left a mug pretty close to the microwave side once and when my mum put it on it started sounding like a jackhammer! seems the mug and the microwave were resonating. try taking out one fan at a time to see if the humming stops. or put the case on a soft base to absorb vibrations/

Or get speedfan and reduce your fan speeds.
My PC at 100% fan speed is very loud, but drop it to 70-80% and it's much better, lower vibrations etc.
Other things to make sure you've done, is make sure you're using the rubber dampeners which came with the sharkoons, and I think you can get those rubber hard disk jackets if you really want (I don't rate them personally)
What surface is the case on? carpet? Could it be worth putting it on something else to further increase the distance things have to travel before hitting the floor/ceiling - a huge chunk or sheet steel should do the job :]

sound travels faster in solids so a huge or sheet steel wouldn't do much. better to put a carpet or something soft under the case.

Sound does, but vibrations are reduced by dense materials, so a thick sheet would absorb them and not pass as many through.

Its on top of the desk, but the wooden legs so to speak are two solid peices of wood going from the top to the floor, doesnt have feet ( if u get me ). I think its coming from the hdd's. i have unplugged fan controller and its no better so it has to be the HDD's, i didnt think they would be this bad as the hard drives are mounted on those little rubber things aint they.

Spinpoints in a normal case are almost the quiets hard drives you can have.
