    Need help ASAP

Just deleted about 3 folders with about 120 gb of stuff on them from my secondry drive and i cant get it back.
How can i get it back?

ive tried one undelete program and i found the stuff but as it was copying the stuff it crashed and i tried again and now it has disappeared, any ideas?

This is really important stuff and i really do not want to lose it.

Please if anyone can help give a reply asap.

Don't start panicking and installing everything and anything and writing and overwriting the HDD. What was the name of the undelete program you used? And how much do you want to pay?

Free Undelete Utility Recovers Deleted Files, Unerases Lost Data I've used that before now and it's worked for small stuff, it's free.

Winundelete is £25 and recently salvaged xxxGB's of my friends photo stuff.

NTFS Undelete I've never used it but some people have reported it working, but it's for NTFS and you must read the front page. Apart from that, do a search in the software forum for "undelete" etc, there was thread not long ago with a similar situation..

    Re: Need help ASAP

not with 120GB worth of data, you'd see some of it. If you're prepared to pay - Winundelete, when installed, will show you exactly what's recoverable. Then it asks you to pay - then you recover what you see.

    getdataback for NTFS

but NEVER install to the drive you're retrieving data from.

It's not free, but I guess neither is the data you're trying to recover

then I have a horrible feeling that the crash could have wiped the remainder out, like you said, very unfortunate. The only thing you can do is try a couple more programs that show you up front what they can salvage. Try Splash's, but the chances of recovery get slimmer the longer you use the drive. I'm surprised Winundelete hasn't uncovered them, leads me to bad thoughts.

    Re: Need help ASAP

Might be a stupid question, but where were these files stored?

You could use the old windows restore points if you have them enabled, should restore the data for you

It will be no good if the files were in 'my documents' or something like that, but it should restore others

Would now be a bad time to point out the benefits of a good backup regime?

Seriously though - try GetDataBack for NTFS (they have a free demo which will show you what can be recovered, if it picks it up then you can buy the software and use it for recovery). $79 is peanuts compared to the hours I have saved using it in the past.
