Installshield sticking on the 'starting installshield wizard' message?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help with this problem I am having with trying to install a game on my pc.

Whenever I click on 'Install game' it brings up the little grey message box saying "Starting Installshield Wizard....", however it does not get any further than this, it does not freeze or anything, in fact the little dots after the word 'wizard' keep building up and down, but it never does anything further.

I just left it for an hour and came back to it but it was still on the same message!!



I tried downloading an update for the appropriate version of installshield from but in order for the update to be installed the installshield needs to run and it just does the exact same thing as it does when I try and install the game!!



By right clicking on the 'setup.exe' file on the disc, it says the installshield version number is 10.1.0.238.



Any ideas why this might be happening?

My system specs are...



Pentium 4 CPU 2.66GHz

2.67 GHz, 256 MB of RAM



The game is "The House of the Dead 3" (A re-released version from last year("SOLD-OUT software") of an old game and recommended specs are low).

Thats an oldie isn't it?
Try running he set-up file in compatibility mode (right click->properties, select the tab, choose win98 or something)
