    Question The box shows COMPAQ V6630EM but the Laptop 6000?

    Dear All,

    I went for a COMPAQ V6630EM. The box shows COMPAQ V6630EM but the machine shows model number COMPAQ V6000? Is this right?

    Thats normal.

    As an example, my old laptop is a HP Pavilion DV1139ea, but it just says HP Pavilion DV1000 on the casing below the screen.

    All the DV1000 models use the same case and share most other components, so they just put the model range on the case. The exact model number is on the sicker on the bottom.

    It's like a car manufacturer no bothering to put 2.0GTI or 1.9TDI on the back of a car and just puting "Mondeo" or "Golf" etc.
