    Dead PSU?

Ok so I was just on the PC and it shut itself down, now when I try and power it on I get 2 quick beeps constantly repeated, the PSU doesnt sound healthy making a odd noise.
The PSU is a Enermax Infinity 650 Watt, tried a different kettle lead and that didnt help.
    Any ideas?

    Re: Dead PSU?

check your mobo manual for bios beep/error codes. sounds something like ram / cpu are messed up... either way it'll give you a hint. doesn't mean the psu isn't messed up too though, but i wouldn't expect an enermax to kill anything else if it went up.

Short the green cable on the 24pin plug with any black one (paper clip?) - does it power up and spin?

    Re: Dead PSU?

2 beeps = PSU protection active. (red light as well)

unplug it from the wall, leave it for few minues and plug it back in.

I would also run your PC without any HDDs, DVD roms etc and then add them until it trips again.
