Theres an option in the ati tool tray thing to autodetect max resolution of the second screen, and then when you play a video it will automatically scale it to the 2nd screen, but not he 1st.
So I use it to show stuff on the plasma at full screen (movies) and at the same time I can use the monitor for emails and stuff.

so have your monitor at 1024x768 and the plasma at 720p while displaying the same thing on both?

thats what i want to do, but it wont let me, it only lets me have different settings for each screen if one screen is used as a desktop extension, not a clone. as i have already explained

    Re: tv-out question ati card.

You clone it with main screen, and then use the setting in video to apply maximum resolution when viewing videos to the second monitor.
I dont know how to do it with general use, just watching videos
