    Bit of help

    Hey

Some of you might remember that I had a problem with my PC booting and asking to press F1 to continue as the system was running in fail safe mode.

I did the reset CMOS thing and it work for a few days, i think I have narrowed the problem down but need some things clearing up.

    1) CMOS Battery: - When I reset the CMOS, the system boots, once I shut it down, if I boot it without turning the PSU of then reboot the machine its fine, but if I turn the PSU of I seem to have this problem.

    2) Could a faulty PSU cause this? Ive noticed that sometimes, even though the PSU hasnt been turned off, the problem still occurs.

Ill double check the first one with a test tonight and over the next few days.

    Thanks in advance

USB, I have four devices, can only remember keyboard and mouse.

Dont have a spare battery to test with, could do with finding one then..does it matter which type of battery?

    Re: Bit of help

Or your local market, someone will be selling watches and they usually have a stock of cr2032 batteries.

Are your usb devices (apart, of corse from keyboard/mouse) turned on when you boot? This can sometimes cause boot problems, try booting with them turned off, turn them on again after boot or when you need them.

Its a standard battery! Larger Boots stores sell them, as do Currys, PC World, Jessops, Maplin... 7dayshop (mail order - also good for flash memory and pen drives)
