    Icybox HDD Installation Problem

Hi all, I recently purchased an Icybox enclosure to mount my HDD into. The shopkeeper saw my HDD and said the Icybox was suitable, and easy to use.

However, upon comparing the Icybox and my HDD, they have different connections. The Icybox has a flat-ish connector about 3cm wide with two different 'holes'. My HDD has a more conventional connector, featuring 39 pins (like an old school printer cable). I was wondering if anyone could offer any help as to how I could connect these two, or if they connect at all.

My HDD is a Western Digital WD3200. I can provide more info if it is needed but I'm not sure what to write so I'll leave it at that.

You may have been sold the wrong Icybox, which one did you buy?

It sounds like the Icybox is for a SATA disc whereas yours is PATA. Some of the Icyboxes can support either type of disc. Did you get a short ribbon cable in a big inside the Icybox?

Yeah I think you're right, it says SATA a lot in the manual and box but no mention of PATA. No ribbon cable. I have all these SATA cables with it though. Will probably pay a visit to the shopkeeper tomorrow!
