    P5K power and o/c problems.

Hi all. I've built my rig and there's two problems. Firstly, whenever I try to overclock my rig, after accepting the changes and restarting the pc, the hard drive makes clicking noises and spinning whining noises. So I shut down and restart using the standard settings and everything is fine again. I've had a look around for answers, but the only thing I could find is possibly the sata freq. is being overclocked and thus 'overclocking' the hard drive. It also mentions locking the sata or agp/pci freq. I cant find in the bios-jumperfree settings anywhere to 'lock' the freq of the sata. (I've also noticed that it may also damage the hd! but nothing is coming up on SMART, I may check later with some HD tools)

The other problem (minor one) is that if I cold start (complete power off at the mains) the pc, the lights come on for a sec, then it seems to lose all power, then starts up as normal. If I leave the power strip on at the mains, but shut down the pc, when I turn it on it just starts as normal.

Please help. Never had this kind of problem before. I just want to mildly overclock my rig. If its not in my profile, my rig is e6750, p5k (vanilla, not deluxe or anything) mb, Corsair 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 ram, Seasonic S12 II 500W psu, Gecube HD 2600Pro 256MB GDDR2 gfx, Western Digital WD1600JS Caviar SE 160GB 7200RPM SATAII/300 8MB hd.

Re: P5K power and o/c problems.

Had to set pci-e to 100. and disable lots of other stuff. Re-read clunks guide to O/C about 4 times now. (my current bios is 0603 and the pages and options are slightly different. No options to fiddle with southbridge for example) Testing rig now at mild overclock of fsb=350. temps are hovering around 51-52 deg C. This is on the stock intel cooler.
Also built a quad core 6600 with same mb (p5k), for someone else. Using ocz ram on 4-4-4-12 at 2.1v. too scared to oc that one as I'm not rich enough to replace the bits.
