Yup, I've got a Corsair (HX620) and it's fantastic. Will be buying the 450W to put in my spare machine without a shadow of a doubt. I think the fact that so many people have replied saying Corsair should speak volumes to you.
Had an Antec (wasn't a cheap one either @ ~£90, only lasted 18 months) before the Corsair and it died. I still haven't got around to sending it off and don't know if I can be bothered because it has to go back to Holland or somewhere in Europe. Gonna cost me about the same as the Corasir 450W to send it off.
Oh and DON'T skimp on the PSU. First machine I ever built had a faulty cheap PSU and it literally blew up (smoke and all) when I turned it on. Luckily it didn't take my components with it, but there's just no point to save £15.
Power supply is worth spending a tiny bit more on, well worth the extra in the long run.
meh. paper details, I'm Gandhi. I had two faulty budget Antec units returned last year. Seasonic I've never had a single fault crop up with one so far, and they deliver. The Corsairs have delivered and been hassle free so far. You ain't powering a nuclear ice breaker here, and the extra on the Corsair is worth it.
Ok. Ordered the Corsair after selling an arm and a leg.
If you're doing a build I'm sure you can claw some of the extra you shelled out on the Corsair back on other things. What was the extra you paid? A tenner tops? You can make that up somewhere else
