Using Bluetooth to explore mobile phone and backup photos
Hi.
When I pair my mobile phone with my Pocket PC via Bluetooth I can explore my phone using OBEX file transfer and backup my photos to the Pocket PC.
I just bought a USB bluetooth dongle expecting to be able to do the same thing, pair my laptop with my phone and backup the photos to my laptop but I can't see anything like it in the software. I can 'send' the files from my phone via Bluetooth okay but that's not the idea, I want to be able to 'explore' the folders on the phone.
I downloaded Medieval Bluetooth OBEX file transfer but it shows an error related to RPC..
Any hints?

i think i have done this with my k750 + linksys dongle in the past. i will double check tonight..
what phone is it you have by the way?
Re: Using Bluetooth to explore mobile phone and backup photos
Doesn't it depend on the software and what Bluetooth profiles the devices support. So if the phone doesnt support file browsing then it won't work.
Actually I really don't know if there is a profile for that, there probably is, but i don't know for sure.

Works fine when I connect to the phone with my PocketPC
Re: Using Bluetooth to explore mobile phone and backup photos
guess it should work then, must be a software issue :)

Solution :
Uninstall all the crud that comes with the dongle and start again. Let XP install the generic drivers and then all's well.
I've also re-installed Medieval Obex and it's working well.
For info : Mine was a Trust BP-2400p
