Puzzled over PSU's

Guys, I need help choosing a PSU.

Here's the PSU's I have found by looking around and which are IMO best Bang for the Buck :

THERMALTAKE TR2 470W - Nahhhh
ANTEC TRIO 430W - Nah ... even at 51A ... Not Silent
ANTEC TRUE BLUE 480W - Nah, 2 fans
HIPER TYPE-M 530W - £37 (35A)
CORSAIR 450W - £44/45 (33A)
OCZ 600W - £47 (72A)

Now, I am looking for one which can Power my Rig and is also Silent. Which do you guys think I should choose?

Is the corsair modular?
I know the Hiper one isn't but it is pretty much the same spec as my modular one (type-r) and its been flawless on my rig.

I'd avoid thermaltake, noisy and pretty substandard from my experience.

Heard good things about corsair psu's tho Also it's worth noting that you get PSU's with dual 12v rails for modern PCs

Yeah, apart from the Corsair, all of them have Dual rails. The Amps stated are 12V1 + 12V2 as found from the Manufacturer's websites.

Take the Corsair.
The TT's, no matter how they may have sorted their act out, are not good. They have a VERY chequered history.

The Hipers are really the same. They have excellent connectors for the modular cables (if you go for the modualr version) but thats where their appeal ends.
They have alot of ripple. The circuit protection is poor. The figures they state for the unit are over exaggerated.

Im not a fan of the Corsair tbh, they are over-rated. But in this case, the Corsair is definitely the best unit. Whatever i think, the units do exactly what they say on the tin.

As far as dual rail PSUs v Single rail debate goes. Dont get too hung up on that.
There are good arguments for and against but, if the PSU is decent, and the amperage delivered is of the required standard, it will make little to no difference.

I'll put a vote in for antec, as i've had a lot of experience with them in various pc's and none of them as of yet have gone wrong and they have all been very realible.

Again, it must be able to power my Current Rig and also be Silent.

What part of Corsair VX450 (Seasonic OEM) don't you get?

The Corsair 450W has a single 120mm fan. You can't get much quieter.
