    How do i stop a file/dll being treated as a virus/trojan??

There is this dll file which always gets removed from my pc whenever i start this application because it is a 'trojan virus' according to Norton 360!! Off course it isn't a trojan and everytime i begin the application it stops working because the dll is removed. Is there anyway i can stop this from happening without turning auto protect off everytime i start the application??? Can't i exclude this file from its scanning process or something??

Thanks in advance for your help!

I don't think so. The Background Scanning is completely automatic.
I think you can set Norton so that it asks you before removing anything. So, when this happens, you can tell Norton NOT to remove.

Btw, try with a different antivirus OR download that DLL file from the net. ( Google for it)

    Easy Fix

    Remove Norton.

    Or

Add it to the trusted Zone thats what I do with Kaspersky it then remembers the setting and does not bother me again unless the file is corrupted or altered.

You should be able to add the file to an excluded list for both scheduled, called and realtime scanning. I don't use norton though so don't know how you'd go about doing that.

I've looked everywhere but there is no such thing in Norton 360...maybe in Norton Internet Security but not 360. You can allow programs to run in 360... i know that but i can't find where to exclude files from scanning processes and auto protect. I've tried downloading the dll from the net and i got the same thing..its called blc2k7.dll. I can restore the file once its removed but i can't add it to items that are to be excluded from scanning - Anymore suggestions?

    Re: How do i stop a file/dll being treated as a virus/trojan??

Remove norton and get a proper av program.

Norton is a nightmare. In my job working in broadband support Norton causes so many issues either with stopping email working or stopping access to the einternet altogether.

There are free av software out there that do a better job than norton but there are programs like nod 32 which cost a bit but do a much better job than norton and best of all you dont notice them unless something is wrong

Presumably he's actually talking about the original file, not a cracked one. ..

You'd think, but... why would Norton be picking it up as a nasty if that were the case? Surely if this were the case then there would be at least a couple of hits for Norton 360 killing the game?

    Re: How do i stop a file/dll being treated as a virus/trojan??

Ok well i got Kaspersky Internet Security (Trial Version) and it doesnt pick it up as a trojan at all...so Norton didn't know what was happening. I will get the full version soon.

    Thanks for all your help!!

All the Google hits I saw refer to that dll as being a part of Brian Lara Cricket, so it's pretty likely that Hexxeh is right... (and he's not often wrong)
