I have an HP 1022 laserjet printer. Does mono prints just great.
One thing I've noticed is slight steam (smoke?) when the paper comes out. Paper is quite warm when it does come out. Is this normal?

The toner fuser does get hot - the heat is applied as the last part of the printing process, so that is normal. If the paper is a bit damp, through being stored in humid conditions, that would explain the steam!

That may explain it. Thanks Peter.
It hasn't been used in last few months. Did quite a bit of printing on it today and saw a bit smoke initially on first few prints [test pages] and steam on all pages after. Was considering taking it to shop to get all clear.
If there was more initially, again it was probably damp in the heated rollers that form part of the fuser process. As they dried out, the quantity of steam would diminish. If there were no smoke smells, the print quality is OK, and the effect has reduced as the printer has been used, don't worry about it
