    PioneerDVR215bk sata

I am having problems with this burner, it will read anything i put into it...but will not write/burn, I have tried a multitude of different Brands of DVD's, but all Fail

I can post an error log if its required (but its long).

    My specs:
Motherboard: ASrock 4CoreDual-VSTA with a VIA sata controller and VIA chipset BIOS rev 1.80
    Vista Ultimate
    Nvidia 7300GT 256Mb PCI-E
    2x 120Gb Seagate HDD's (IDE)
LG GSA 4167B ATA burner (burns everything i throw at it)

I have 2 sata connections on my board, i'm connected on sata1. In the BIOS i am using the SATA only function (non RAID).

any help in getting this drive to work will be greatly appreciated.

    cheers
    linuts

What are you using to burn the DVDs, maybe the progam is not compatible with sata drives, it may need an update.

I think I read somewhere that this drive won't work on a VIA SATA chipset. I'll try and find the link.

Hold on, that appears to be your thread

You've had many replies, even one from a Pioneer bod.

Have you tried any of the suggestions on that thread?

Tak....yes ive done all the suggested things, I had an e-mail from Via to-day saying they will check into the problem, and i have updated the firmware on drive to the latest 1.18 as well as updating the Motherboard drivers with the latest Hyperion drivers from Via.

    cheers
