Re: Abit IP35-E Double boot.
Thanks guys that did the job.
When it told me to restart I restarted and when it booted back up after restart, no monitor came on so I had to switch the PC off and back on but doing that made the monitor come back on when I next booted it up.
However, it's recognising the latest BIOS version in the bios, but the PC still double boots...
Any one got any ideas?
Thanks.
EDIT - Turned it off and back on and now it's booting fine. The monitor still doesn't come on instantly but I don't mind because it isn't turning it's self on and off now on bootup. :)
Cheers guys... REALLY appreciate it.

Np Denic, glad i could help for once xD
Re: Abit IP35-E Double boot.
Hey again guys.
This morning when I turned my PC back on after about 9 hours, it double-booted again but only once. When the PC fully booted up I turned it off and on again and it was fine.
It seems to do it just when the PC has been off for a long amount of time.
Any one have any ideas on what could be causing this?
Cheers.
Re: Abit IP35-E Double boot.
I think I know what you mean, with my board, it kind of powers up for a few seconds, stops then boots properly, am not sure if this is a feature of the motherboards or not though.
Re: Abit IP35-E Double boot.
Well this is very strange indeed...
Today it's started to double boot everytime I shut down and start the PC again... I can't understand why.
Maybe resetting the CMOS would help?

It will double boot on the first boot after being disconnected from power (e.g. turned off at PSU switch or wall socket) but if you leave it with standby power it shouldn't thereafter.
This is common to P35 chipset mobos as it's chipset related (strap setting).
It will also stop/start if you save changes in the BIOS - again a P35 chipset "feature".
Re: Abit IP35-E Double boot.
Cheers for the info Buff, only just got round to visiting the forums again.
Was going to say that after updating BIOS and not turning the PC off at the PSU or socket I havent had a double boot.
Re: Abit IP35-E Double boot.
Did they revise bios on newly shipped mobos, or is flashing bios still required when you buy this mobo today?
Re: Abit IP35-E Double boot.
depends when the mobo that you buy was originally manufactured & shipped.
It will have had the latest at time of manufacture but with shipping & sitting in distributor/retailers ...
