    Re: cmos checksum bad? problems

When I had the error to do with checksum above i had just used the jumpers to reset and it worked fine.

With the USB line being in there..could it be a USB device thats causing the problems? have you tried disconnecting anything you dont need right away, like a printer or webcam or anything else?

Well at the very least trying a new battery would eliminate that as the cause if there's still the same problem.

    Re: cmos checksum bad? problems

Do you not have any usb device coneected (ie) keyboard or mouse. If you do check that they are connected properly and use alternatives if you have them (ie) if you have four usb inlets try the usb device in another as sometimes these usb inputs can become borked.

Also go into bios and check that any usb device you have is recognised and check settings for usb devices.

Let us know how you get on.

    Re: cmos checksum bad? problems

    "cmos checksum bad"

this error is usually caused by bad setting in the bios, or by another couple of problems, which being a new build won't be the cause of the problem.

If the problem was with your ram, you should get a double "beep" on boot-up so, imho, this may be a jumper setting being incorrect on the mobo, (a good look at the mobo manual will help) or, hopefully not, a short, caused by the mobo being grounded.
