Strange 3 pixel jog + IE

Hey all I have a 3 column layout, 2 floated left and one floated right (naughty I know - but it doesn't have the 3 pixel gap in IE this way!) and all is well.

However. I've put 4 images in the centre column (floated left) and a three pixel gap has appeared between the images - but only vertically.

Anyone got an ideas?

Fixed. Weird one.

Problem was
I'd used return inbetween the images

<3><4>

Where
<1><2><3><4>

Worked. Madness.
