MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
Ok see if anyone here has any idea, I used the mouse two days ago fine, used it yesterday morning fine, it was then placed in the charger.
Now since the last charge it has a mind of its own, whilst the pointer wiorks like it should do, the clicking has gone nuts.
It will double click by itself, it will not allow you to select within PSP if you are zoomed in on an image too close and I keep shutting down windows and images I desperately need.
I wasn't going to post this but after closing outlook for the 25th time today its really starting to irritate me.
has anyone got ANY ideas or experienced this before? The recevier is away from anything with static etc, themouse is well charged and all is as per Logitech's suggestions.
Come on people, scratch your heads and help me before the last hair goes from my head.
Ta
matt
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
Might sound simple but have you tried re-syncing the mouse? I've got a G9 and it had a bit of an issue with the profiles but I did a 'reset to defaults' from the Logitech software and it was happy again.
May also be radio interference (my brother had similar problem with his old logitech cordless set, but it didn't double-click by itself!) like your neighbour's new wireless network.
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
Have you got the Logitech software installed? I find nothing screws up my MX1000 like Logitech's mouse package :P I just stick to the default drivers that windows uses.
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
Tried a resynch, no joy, also not using setpoint, blerugh to that!
Still at a total loss with this one, I have absultely no idea what's causing it..
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
My MX revolution seems to have a mind of its own sometimes. More often than not it just gets 'cutouts' where the mouse just totally stops working for a split second, not a problem if your in windows, but TF2 it can be annoying. I have had it click by itself though :(, its a shame its otherwise an excellent mouse.
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
It couldn't be mechanical, like some gunk in the switch ot a short circuit, could it?
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
If you don't have setpoint installed it might be worth trying to plug the mouse into another system (your laptop maybe) and see if the problem persists..
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
Tried it in my laptop, it does the same.
Called logitech, they say take it back to the retailer if i can find the receipt (take laptop and demonstrate problem) or call them back to arrange an exchange if I cant find the reciept (the more likely conclusion to this problem lol)
Thanks
Matt
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
Logitech RMA is awesome btw, normally you only have to send them back the charger plug or the battery door, and you get a spanky new replacement :)
Re: MX Revolution - doing ma knut in!
Agreed with the above. Sounds like interference or a defective mouse. If its interference you will know when your replacement does the same things :(
Since you have a laptop available, it may be worth going for a little drive and seeing if it has the same issues when away from home. There are all sorts of things that can interfere with remote stuff.
