    Website/IE7 help needed

    Hi,

Im not quite sure if this is the right section...

Basically im having alot of trouble embedding flash onto a website that i have made.

The website is compliant, and html/CSS valid... but what seems to be happening is, as i have 2 divs next to each other, the one on the left being the menu, and the one on the right being the content... the menu has a picture in in that runs the whole length of the content in most cases, as the content is flash from dailymotion.

I have tried using the daily motion embed code, and still no joy (as im currently using a piece of code that is valid that embeds the flash object). i have also tried using a youtube video and still no joy.

Basically what happens is... the page works perfect.... in FF, and ie6...

in ie7, however it seems to work fine until it gets to the bottom of the content div on the right, and everything below that in the menu at the side stops working, asig the mouse has no reaction...

in plain text links the mouseover doesnt work, and the links are inactive, not even being able to select the text...

as said, this only happens in IE7... and only on this one page!

If anyone has any idea what might be going on, please let me know.

Im using XP SP2, IE 7.0.570.13, flash 9

I'm at a loose end now, and my boss wants to know why its not working in IE7!

    Thanks in advance!

    Re: Website/IE7 help needed

what are those <div> tags doing just after you close the main <div>

    Code:
    </div>

    	<div> <--- this one
    		<div> <--- and this one
    <div> <--- and this one

    <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
just had a quick google, and there seems to be some issue between flash and javascript - have a read of that thread, but you dont seem to have any javascript... this is mental.

[e!] deleting those divs had no effect...

    Sorry,

    Thanks for the help...

It was an unclosed div sitting over the top of the menu div and where it wasnt over the top of it, it was disabling stuff...

    DOH!!

    Thanks again streetster

    Re: Website/IE7 help needed

oops, sorry, not an unclosed div, it was a css problem,

Css was not set on the content div, so it went 100&#37; across the screen with only the content inside it being floated next to the menu, so for some bizzarre reason where it overlapped it worked, where it didnt overlap it did not work... probably could have sorted it with some kind of z-index, but i just set the width on the div corectly
