Error - Accsess Denied

Hi,
I have taken my hard drive out off my pc because it was always rebooting i just want to get my data off it now so i have connected it to my laptop via a usb to ide lead when i try to view my files it says accsess denied i think this is somthing to do with the file permissions but there is no security tab when i go to propties so i dont no how to get my files any idias?

xp home has no security tab. try booting into safe mode - iirc that enables it

Check in explorer option, view tab, right at the bottom and turn of Simple Sharing or whatever it's called, then you'll need to either take ownership or add a permission for a user on the laptop.
