    SD Card Data Loss

I hope somebody can point me in the right direction here. I have just come back from my brothers Stag weekend in Barcelona and I was the designated snapper (don't think anyone else wanted to carry their camera around!!)
Anyways I was looking at the shots on my laptop in the built in SD reader great, this morning I took it out and put it in the reader on my monitor and .................Nothing, no register at all

So I put the card back in my laptop (Vista) and a message came up that the data may be corrupted or somthing similar, and did I want to try and fix it, so i ticked the two boxes, waited for the progress bar..............and then still nothing. A file named DCIM (as normal) has appeared but properties list it as 32KB. However if I check the properties of the card it reads as a 2GB and that 337MB are used??????

The card is a sandisk Ultra2 and is about 12months old.

I really would like my pictures back, is there any recovery software I can try or any other solutions?

Any help will be massivley appreciated

    EDIT:

    I have found this

CONVAR & PCinspector Data Recovery Datenrettung recupero dati datarecovery récupération données

Anyone used it? It is covered under a "creative common license" and free.

    PhotoRec - CGSecurity

Image the drive first with something like WinImage or `dd`. TestDisk, also from the above site, might be useful too depending on how the card is corrupted.

    Re: SD Card Data Loss

    hey,
i know that this is already an older threat but i had the same problem and found help. my computer couldn't read the card anymore and all the recoversoftware wouldn't work. so i found some specialists in the internet (recoverfab(dot)com) who managed it to save all my fotos. i highly can recomend them!
