I am looking at the Zalman Z-MACHINE GT900 but that may be too expensive; any suggestions would be appreciated

Re: Custom PC Buid - Advice

You would be better buying a 8800GT 512mb just as fast as a GTX and a lot cheaper. Something like..

    Point Of View 8800GT 512MB GDDR3 256bit Dual DVI PCI-E Graphics Card - Ebuyer

Or you could buy a pair of 9600GT 512mb for the same price as the GTX and they would be a 30-50% faster.

if your going to go amd do one of two things

change that too a 5000 black edition
or what i think you should do is wait for new phenoms to come out without the memory bug and buy the cheapest one of them which would be a tri or quad core up to you.

Or i guess you could do a 3rd point which is go INTEL lol, you'll save yourself alot of money and gain performance plus the satisfaction in knowing the company isn't going down the pooper.

also as said above buy a 512mb 8800gt if you want top perfomance as its cooler and uses less power then gtx.
Maybe 9600gt if you want cheaper.

And for case well completely up to you but i personally like the Coolermaster range
And maybe you could look at the ArticCooling Case that is beyond silent (i have to check if its turned on!) that comes with a seasonic 550 watt psu (easily enough for any 8800gt and quad core setup).

Re: Custom PC Buid - Advice

    Thanks for the advice.
I think i will get the Antec 900; looks like good thermal performance for the money.
I haven't had a good look at the graphics cards yet but my first impressions of the pair of 9600GT 512mb is very good for performance and cost.

Thanks again for the advice, quick response and very useful
