    Dual boot screen

    hello, i got a dual boot screen with a two window xp. One is the regular Window Xp Professional while the other is Window Xp(default), i tried to got to control panel/system/advanced and try to get rid of it but it doesnt show up.

    Which OS is the one you want to work ?

    i want the regular Window Xp professional to work. Because when i choose default nothing happen. it just restarts

    go to c:

    and edit the boot.ini file ( may be a hidden file )

    It should look like this :


    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn


    If not, make sure it does, backup the boot.ini file just incase but that should do it

    thank you. can you help me out again? umm when i load up my computer, it doesnt usually lag, but yesterday night i was converting a video and it started to lag major time. Then i restarted but it just kept lagging so now when i play games but computer make a jerking sound and it freezes. how do i thank you to add to ur thank count
