pHp BB Admin Idiot

Me and a friend were messing about on his pHp BB forums at school and it culminated with him banning himself (Don't Ask). Problem is he was the only admin, so noone has access to the Admin Control Panel!!

Is there a way of unbanning himself?

Go into the database and modify the value there. I'm fairly sure its in the normal users table under something like 'banned'

I didn't think phpBB would allow that.

That story reminds me of when I used to use mIRC alot and the gaming clan I was in, one of the ops somehow kick-banned everyone including himself.

Just logged into my PHPbb install - its the table "[installname]_banlist" where [installname] is your table install name

Ah that reminds me of the time when I messed up the main template and then couldnt change it back, I ended up having to run a script which forcefully overrides the template choice so I could actually log in again. Good times indeed.

Haha...yep...i didnt that in our channel.

I also wrote a bot that would protect the channel and everytime i tried to reassume control, the bloody bot would block me.
The only way to switch the bot off was to be in the channel

Needless to say, i bet its still there.
