    Question Software help

    Hi everyone

I currently have XP on my PC, however I feel that XP does not reconise my Quad Core computer making it slow.
If that is the case I might have 2 get Windows vista for my pc but I don't know which version is better either normal or ultimate.
What do u recommend I should get for my software upgrade?

    Thx!!!!

    Big D3

XP will definitely recognise the 4 cores, check CPU-Z

wont make it any faster either being on vista

    But it will look nicer

    Are all the cores functioning?
Do you have it all set in the bios correctly?
Is it over heating causing throttling?

    Re: Software help

Throtting is a term i have never heard before, but nonetheless everything is fine, nothing overheating, the cores are reconised on task manager and the bios is set do the default standards cus i dont do overclocking (2 scared lol).

I have checked CPU-Z and although XP reconises the cores, i cannot do a selection of the processors in the drop down list.

I ll check my BIOS again later on but thx Guys!!!!!!

But still should I get vista because the latest graphics card for nvidia is out now.

    Re: Software help

If you really want to get vista (and there's no real reason why not), then wait a couple of months until SP1 has been slipstreamed onto the disk, saves having downloading and install it seperately.

    Re: Software help

Waiting a few months hardly is worth the effort of a download and install that takes about 2 hours total to do...
