    Ip 35

Im having several problems with the board, to start heres the spec

Q6600 @ stock (Core temp average 34C on idle, so HSF is fine)
Arctic freeer pro 7 (with the cpu header plugged in)
    Ip35 Dark Raider (problem?)
2Gb Geil Ultra low (upped the voltage to the 2.1 due to the spd not reporting properly)
8800gt Leadtek with zalman, with the pci-e power in
620 Hx Corsair (with the 24pin, the 4 pin molex and the other 6 pin all plugged in)
500gb Samsung Spin point (got a 500gb aaks installed but no power until I get everything working)
    Soundblaster Ausidy 4

XP sp2 and all updates possible

    Now the issues:

It doesn't recognise any of the contents of a usb pen drive thing, no idea why as other PCs do, see below.
It double boots from cold, maybe a BOS problem?
I can only put the SATA emulation thing to IDE in BIOS, any other setting it doesn't boot even though Ive installed the chipset drivers and dont understand how to get to work as SATA ACHP or whatever.

    Further development:

When accessing large files of the usb drive, i.e. Sound blaster drivers, its crashes and then fails to recognize the contents of the drive.
Then it requires uninstalling then reinstalling (of the usb drive) for it to work again.

    Any ideas?

Help would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance, Sukh

    Sounds a bit dodgy.

The double boot thing suggests you are running an early bios so the first port of call is updating that

Yeh I know, the worst part is we are having power cuts :S so don't want to risk a BIOS flash. First time having power cuts in 3 years today, when I need normal power

Any idea about the SATA part? I don't understand how XP couldn't have installed SATA drivers, in device manager it says it recognizes them as SATA but as soon as I turn emulation off it BSODs

    Re: Ip 35

My mate did mention having to install sata drivers off a disc for his PRO when installing xp. I've only ever used it with vista and it didn't seem to need them.

With regards to the SATA mode, once you've installed XP, you can't change it at will AFAIK. There was a guide floating around about switching modes I think on the forums about how you might be able to pull it off.

in IDE mode you get native SATA (IDE emulation) support.

If you want AHCI you have to install with the ports in AHCI mode & install using F6 to load the AHCI drivers.
Personally imo it's not worth th ehassle as there is no real performance benefit (burst rates will go up but that's such a small % of usage...).
