Does anyone know if this coolant gets foamy when you shake it? Might sound odd but I have a problem with turbulence in my Laing DDC + Alphacool Reservoir. The current UV solution (some Thermaltake stuff I had spare) gets really foamy and introduces tons of bubbles into my water loop and sounds like a pond full of frogs (gets louder as more bubbles form). Not sure if changing the fluid will make any difference.
When you first installed the watercooling did you turn the case onto its sides to get move the air bubbles from loop, sounds as if there are air bubbles in the loop.
Rotated it 360 :). The pump starts off quiet and relatively bubble free (been trying to bleed out new bubbles overnight) and slowly gets louder as the bubbles and foam are pumped through the loop. The loop itself starts off bubble free based on what I can see. Don't know what's going on inside the radiators obviously (Alphacool Extreme II's).Quote:

If you still get bubbles, you either have air trapped somewhere in the system, have a small leak on the suction side of the pump (drawing air in), or you are getting cavitation in the bump which is causing bubbles (and probably not doing the pump any good). That said, the latter cause is pretty unlikely.
Good idea, might try it with just plain (distilled) water. On the other hand, I've just ordered an XSPC top + Res (higher flow and meant to have lower turbulence too) for "testing".
Installed the XSPC Top + Res and all the bubbles bled out in under 30 minutes. Started off noisier than the Alphacool but all silent now.
Problem solved! A result!
For future reference, all coolants "foam" when shaken enough. The turbulence in the Alphacool Top + Res is simply poor design. Unfortunate since the built quality is excellent, especially compared to the XSPC which looks really cheap.
