Who said it was faultless? I certainly don't think it is for the very reasons you have kindly linked in your posts and I don't think anyone else has made this claim. I find the margin of error small enough that it's not significant for my purposes and so far this has proven to be the case in practice.
I do understand where you’re coming from with your multiple checks and it makes sense for critical data and “proper” archiving. Still, in my eyes this doesn’t make Nero verify pointless for general daily use for the reason I mentioned above, ie. Margin of error is within tolerance.
