    HPET 32, 64 or disabled

Not really sure what setting i should be using.

am running a Gigabyte P35 DS3 with Vista Ultimate 64.

I assume the 64 bit setting would be correct.

    any ideas?

Logic would say that with a 64 bit processor, HPET 64 would be the choice - but you can always try the two settings to see - the worst that will happen is that it won't boot. I couldn't get a system (not windows) to boot at all with the HPET enabled at all on a low end Asus board!

Well it is currently set to 32bit so will set it to 64 later.

Doubt it will make any odds - *crosses fingers*

Re: HPET 32, 64 or disabled

Just had a quick Google - recommendation is that for a 64 bit OS it should be set to HPET 64! (Which makes sense!!! )

Good! Any obvious change in system performance?
