Re: Are you using Vista now?

I've got Vista on my laptop, boots hella slow compared to XP but it's usually on sleep anyway. Very stable and looks pretty, I'd never go back to XP on this machine, I'll miss the 'Start Search' and Aero effects too much.

BTW, Check out Vista Battery Saver if you've got Vista on a Laptop, I never leave home without it!

Re: Are you using Vista now?

I've been using Vista since the middle of last year, got a new PC with SATA drives and it was easier to go with it than to slipstream an XP install CD.

I hardly ever notice I'm running it, some things are slightly better, some slightly worse, but it works and does everything I need.

If your system specifications are accurate, I'd say you were crazy! After all, why splash out on 8GB of RAM if you're not using a 64bit OS (and don't tell me you're using XP 64!!!)

It's like anything computer related, you pick the right software for the right hardware (or Linux on anything )

Re: Are you using Vista now?

    Has anyone tried Win 2008?

Windows Server 2008 is better than Vista, but why? | The Register
Makes an interesting read. No idea how accurate it is though.
