Orange Tint When Playing Video Files

Hi everyone i have a problem playing videos.
All of a sudden they have a orange tint constantly. this is with MKV's, Rm files too.

I use Klite codec pack and media player classic.
Media player classic does the same and wmp.

Tried reinstalling both gpu drivers and klite codec pack.

Anyone know how to sort this problem out?

    Thanks
    Amrit

Re: Orange Tint When Playing Video Files

if your using a nVidia gfx card then using the program (cant't remember what it's called :S)
or ATI (catalyst control centre or summin)

you can do fine tuning on outputs. it might be worth a try.

you can change the hue in WMP as well, under: view>enhancements>videosettings and playing with the colour until you get it right.

edit: the nVidia one might be called nVidia control panel

Re: Orange Tint When Playing Video Files

Try in MPC switch between VMR7 Windowed, VMR9 Windowless and Overlay Mixer.
VMR7 should bypass the driver's colour setting.

Also, try get into the decoder setting (right click during movie, filter, ??? video decoder)
You probably activated some sort of raw filter with settings that alter colour. (e.g. ffdshow raw decoder)

Re: Orange Tint When Playing Video Files

Does it happen after playing games? i used to get it sometimes after playing cs:s although it was a purple tinge and a restart would get rid of it for me, not seen it lately so maybe it's been fixed in a driver update.

Re: Orange Tint When Playing Video Files

best way to check if it codec issues download VLC player (google it) as it does not use plugins to play files and if they play fine at least you narrowed down the problem

Re: Orange Tint When Playing Video Files

If it happens in VLC its not a software or codec issue meaning its probably your monitor your red colour may be dying out as monitors are made up of 3 colors red, blue and yellow like everything else my last monitor blew its yellow completly and everything was tinted purple.. If you can try a differnt monitor do so if you cant its hard to say if monitor settings don't fix it it's either your card or monitor you just gotta figure out which if its only movies though and nothing else its more than likely your card if everything has the tint its more than likely your monitor... Hope that helps

If you have monitor drivers installed, try uninstalling them so you're only using the generic plug and play ones.
