    No POST :'(

Hi, recently I had a problem with my system getting to post (i had just built it) so i RMAed the mobo to scan who tested it and in the report said that there was no problems (they still sent me a RMA anyways because of a broken SATA port - great cs), i've received my new mobo today and I still can't get it to post. I'm testing it using a q6600, 1 ram stick, true and graphics card
Everything powers up, graphics card fan goes high speed, everything turns off, turns back on again, graphics card fan goes high speed then slows down and the primary display led turns on (i suppose this is the usual startup for the system), all other fans go on as well when the system is on, however the monitor just shows no signal (in the top right it shoes a white box that switched from analog to digital and has 5 circles with dots in the middle - i assume this is no signal)
I've tried using all 4 sticks in different slots with no success, i have also tried to to use a different monitor. I've built the system out of the case for now to reduce risk of shorting.

    My system is:
    Abit ip35 dark raider
    q6600 slacr
    4x2 g.skill pc2 6400 (pq)
    bfg 9800gx2
    corsair hx620
    true w/ scythe s-flex sff21f
    samsung sm245b
(rest of system is in my system)

Can anyone help me? None of my friends are pc-smart so i can't use their computers for testing my parts

Have you reset the CMOS yet?

EDIT: First thing I do before powering up any new motherboard.

    Re: No POST :'(

As i've said before i've been trying each RAM stick, I reset the CMOS and took out the battery when changing stick/slot

I've also tried using both dvi ports on the graphics card, still no display :'(

    Re: No POST :'(

seems your graphics card may be busted or not connected properly does it require a pci-e power cable off your psu? I know it may sound daft and may be the first thing you checked but gotta make sure as some ppl do forget it. Best thing to do is try another card and see if that works usually if it turns on and you get no screen its down to a graphics card problem I would seriously find out if it was that first. Everything else looks fine like mobo and power

    Re: No POST :'(

I'm sure the graphics card is powered correctly, the green LEDS indicating power are both on. I don't have another gfx card i can test out.

Does anybody know any good pc shops around Hounslow, West London where i can get this checked out? I've tried one and the guy was clueless, I had to tell him what to do and he concluded that the mobo was faulty (funnily enough sent it to scan who tested and said it boots and displays fine), the other shop would charge 35 quid just to get it checked out and a tenner just to plug my gfx card into a different mobo
I might decide to go to pc world lol

    Re: No POST :'(

if the fans speed up and then slow down it sound very odd, if its a no poster they normallyjust stay on full.

    Re: No POST :'(

The fans speed up, turn off, turn back on
The graphics card fan turns on high with the others, turns off with the others, turn on high again then slows down and the primary display port light turns on

is 100% not your monitor that is faulty?

You do have the 4 pin to the board as well don't you?

    Re: No POST :'(

I have the 24pin and the 8pin to the board, i didn't think i needed the 4 pin molex as the 9800gx2 uses its own pcie connectors

I've also tried using two monitors (one i'm sure works as i'm using it now) and both don't get a signal

    Re: No POST :'(

I don't think the psu is faulty, everything seems to power on correctly (apart from the fact that it turns off and on again once when i turn it on, which might be a fault)
Can anyone recommend me a pc shop in hounslow to take my system to where they can test individual parts, i'm pretty much stuck here as i don't know what to do and don't have a space pc/parts to test

    Re: No POST :'(

Just use 1 stick of ram, the CPU fan and graphics card and see what you get then.
