    Ok I found VLC and downloaded it
    after installing it I tried it but its just the same

    try pressing ctrl+shift+n in media player

    Is it actually playing fasrter or skippimg? If it is skipping, it implies the laser isn't following the tracks. Can you read data DDVDs? What happens if you fast forward to another part of the disk? (A DVD tracks from the inner edge to the outer, so ii might plat the outer edges when the disk is rotating more slowly

    Failure to track could be something as simple as a speck of dirt on the laser lens, to the laser focussing mechanism sticking.

    If you can borrow another drive and test that, it will eliminate (or prove) the drive itself as the source of the problem.

    It doesnt skip ..... it just plays audio and video too fast.
