TRU120E dual fans? how do you fit, 2 sets of fan clips?

as the title suggests i have a TRU120E but i am struggling to fit an extra 2 fan clips so that i can have 2 fans in push pull, how do you do it?

i've tried looping it round the first set of fan clips, but it just pings off.
there is no room for the clips to go it with the other two because the hole is the diameter of 1 fanclip.

So how do you do it?

Or do you just mount the second fan with elastic bands??
Or tiewraps?
Or superglue?

edit, probably going to have to look at using tiewraps and i bought a second set of fan clips as well

Sounds interesting... maybe I should try this with my TRUE.

My guess would be cable ties or elastic bands

When you get it right could you do a comparison to see whether its worth it for me to shimmy a second fan

there is no difference between single and dual fans.

The Thermalright mounting holes were not designed to hold fan wires for two fans. They are about the diameter of a single wire and two just won't fit. The lower fan clip mount hole opens and breaks if you try to mount two fan wires in the mounting hole. Clearly Thermalright did not design the Ultra 120 for multiple fan mount, though we agree the design looks a natural for a push-pull fan setup.

Not much difference then... TRUE already keeps my overclocked CPU below 50C even under load from Orthos for hours on end.

Not really any motivation to take that down to 47C as its not really going to effect much besides adding some more fan noise.

there should be a difference, but not exactly huge, I get the same 3-4C drop at most.
And 0-1C difference with >800rpm fans.

hmmm, i might just give it a go with tie wraps to see how much of a difference it makes, it's at 52c after half an hour of orthos, but mobo likes to creep up to 50c as well and then i burn meself on the northbridge cooler pipey covery goodness

If that's the case then you should be looking at your case's general airflow rather than specifically worrying about your CPU cooler having a 2nd fan on.

i'm moving to a new case soon, cos this ones pants, so i'm not too bothered about overall case airflow at the minute

Cable ties work well. I use them kinda like the rubber mount you see rather than ties. Thread the thin end of the tie through the fins then trim any excess.

The fins on my Thermalright pinch them pretty tightly, The Ultra extreme has been running like that for 6 odd months. One of the original fan clips snapped on me. So I improvised. No extra noise, not fallen off yet.

Double sided velcro is good too(you seem to get some with just about every Zalman product for the Fan controller). obviously you can only use it on the frame side of the fan, and just watch out for a thin film of clear plastic over the sticker on the fan(like the stuff you get on phone screens), it peeled away on mine. Another set of velcro and it's rock solid.

Might not work on loose finned HSF's and obviously not ones with concave front faces, but it was fine for my HR-05 and 40mm fan. I imagine bigger fan+more velcro will work just as well.
