So last night I was playing Warsow; had it in window mode so I can easily manipulate xfire (and it allows me to web browse when things gets tiresome). Part way through a fun training session with a friend, we comment xfire just kicked us off.
Soon after that, I was getting 4fps and then BSOD.
It rebooted and as stuff was reloading KIS reports that it's database is corrupt and all the AV/Firewall stuff is now offline and I need to update.
Fair enough I thought, after all it died whilst doing stuff so probably b0rked a file somewhere. So I get back on the net, hit update and after updating it's database KSI says....you guessed it. Database corrupt.
I'm hacked off so tried normal restart and cold restart. Same result. So by 11:30pm I jack it in and turn KSI off, disconnect myself from the net and load up some video files to watch and have the PC auto shutdown after playing through the playlist.
I wake up at 5:13am this morning to find my PC is still on. I log on and windows tells me it has recovered from a serious error.
Even weirder than that, KSI works again and the database is not corrupted.
I have no idea what went on last night.
So tonight will be defrag.scan disk and memtest86. Anything else I should run? Any suggestions as to what is going on?
Oh and KSI is scheduled for the different scans overnight; of course I have to manually run the one scheduled for last night (or early this morning) when I get home.
