Yeah, people don't actually realise how little power the computers actually use. Back in the days I was one of the people who believed when the PC is on it uses the full power supply power etc. My System <---- Uses like 210 idle and about 350 on load. Haven't had time to check in detail though but it hasn't crept over :D
Re: PC Build - Suggestions?
Hehe, yeah. I've been out of the game for too long to be honest, feels good being back. The sheer size of components these days just look like you need a PSU for each. The last thing I'd want was to plug everything together, hit the power button and the bloody thing not to work! :D
Re: PC Build - Suggestions?
Don't worry that won't happen unless you have a cheapy PSU or DOA parts which doesn't happen very often :D
Actually never happened in all my time.
But 625w will be more than enough ;)
Re: PC Build - Suggestions?
I have had plenty of doa stuff... usually motherboards... early 939 boards game me many problems... it does happen...
Re: PC Build - Suggestions?
guess I'm lucky then ;D
From Socket A -> 754 -> 939 -> AM2 -> 775
No failures! :D
I did however get a HX520 Doa which took one of the SoA mobos out. Now I got a PSU tester so that'll never happen again.
Re: PC Build - Suggestions?
Lucky!! I tend to find stuff is more likely to work if you buy it 2nd hand as its been tested already... as long as you buy it of someone reliable
Re: PC Build - Suggestions?
I would be sorely tempted to spend 'slightly' more and replace that 750GB drive with 3 x 500GB in a RAID5 config (Some redundancy and a few other benefits - total 1TB useable capacity.)(You\'ll need to make sure whatever Mobo you choose has onboard RAID tho.
