    Northbridge Heatsink Help

    Bought a PC off here and parcelforce did their usual across water damage and broke off the northbridge heatsink from the motherboard alongside snapping its screws. It looks like the one below;

    The heatsink itself is fine so what do i need to put it back on. Have arctic silver but it just falls off. What sort of adhesive tape (most the other heatsink coolers have this) do i need? Is there a special one for this or is it universal? As i'm unsure how i'd go about putting new plastic screws in so would rather go for the safer adhesive tape and purchase it or buy a new one like ;

    You just need some replacement clips to reattach it to the motherboard.

    If you want to do it via tape its called "thermal tape" or "frag tape"

    I got two long strips of "thermal tape" off eBay, a couple of quid in total I think. Holds most sinks in place, even with a bit of rough handling.

    There are ways of securing sinks through mounting holes using cable ties, but a chunk of thermal tape is a damn sight easy to apply.

    Got the Akasa thermal tape off PC world for 2.99, it's on the site but not the search function ain't working to get it up at the minute.
    My dad got it and said the man said about some parts of the PC could melt if this is used, what the hell's he on about?
    I got the right stuff didn't i? Type 'thermal tape' into pcworld.co.uk and it comes up
