X-Fi installer not recognising creative SB0460

Hi i purchased a X-Fi 7.1 SB0460 sound card from ebay as OEM.I tried installing drivers from X-Fi installer CD (borrowed) and from creative site as well. But none of them recognises the sound card and i get the following error

    screenshot

I recieved a replacement card (same model) but it is the same story.

While searching around i found that there are 2 creative cards under the same model number

Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 SB0460 PCI Audio Sound Card: 70SB046000007

Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum 7.1 SB0460 PCI Audio Sound Card: 70SB046000001 (Retail) (Discontinued)

Am i using the right drivers or are these cards faulty?

    Thx in advance.

    Ah, this old chestnut.

Chances are its a rebranded Creative card - usually Dell and they require a different driver from the normal ones. example

You can also try the Daniel_K drivers, which are much better anyway

Also try the non BETA version from Creative.

Don't know of one, sorry. You'll have to use Google to dig one out

I may have a look tomorrow if I get a second, but no promises!
