thank you for your help (and your corrections )
I wish it was as simple as that missing 6pin lol.
The picture of it on page one is actually spot on exactly what it is.
There is no such additional power connection required for this card - i have since tried to connect it again and i am certain Vista is booting - i think i know this because when i turn it off i have to hold the power button for 10seconds (as opposed to the usually instantaneous shutdown when you are in bios) - also when i reconnect the ATI card i see the standard "windows vista did not shutdown blahblah" screen.
The graphics card just refused to show anything on screen. Unless i really am missing a trick here with the ATI --> Nvidia change, i am stumped - never had any of these problems with a fresh build :@
Minimum Power Supply Requirement: 350 WATT
Still I would expect you to get a boot screen

killie99 - I have removed the last 2 posts of yours.
I'm not sure if they were posted as a joke or if they were serious, but we can't run the risk of someone following that advice and not knowing better.
If it was serious advice - then please read up the basics of graphics cards before fitting one
Thank you everyone who gave the time, even killie
I hope nobody had a solution because im returning the bugger!
Scan are quite nice like that
