    Asus P5K-E over P5K-Premium/ P5Q-E?

Hi guys, am building a new system and need a bit of help. Ive done some research and have decided that I'm going to go for an Asus board with a Q6600 CPU. I've shortened down mobo to three boards with similar features:

    - P5K-E
    - P5K-Premium
    - P5Q-E

Im in two minds as to whether to go for the P5K-E as its £20 cheaper at £82 than the other two at around £100, but has very similar features. From what Ive read the other boards have betters components. I want to get a decent board, but am not sure whether the £20 is worth it or not. I dont actually need two GIG onboard LANs. Which board would you recommend I go for? I'm only looking to OC the board to just over 3GHz so nothing crazy.

Also, final question. Is it worth getting PC28500 memory over PC26400?

Any help would be much appreciated.

no point in PC8500, PC6400 is enough for 3.0GHz, as is the P5K-E, although I would probably buy the Abit IP-35 PRO

Hey Mike, thanks for the quick response.

Ive heard of abit but not looked into it. Would you say its better than the Asus equivalent board and is it as easy to OC it as Asus? Although i know Asus is good and the P5K-E has got decent reviews, im a bit hesitant as from doing a bit more reading it seems that users have been having problems with it not starting up and bios problem. I dont really want to go through the hassle of trouble shooting start up problems. Whats your view on this if you dont mind me asking?

    Re: Asus P5K-E over P5K-Premium/ P5Q-E?

I've never had a problem with either manafacturers, but at the price point the PRO is pretty fair. It's pretty much the best P35 overclocker the only one that really challenges it is the P5K deluxe/premium.

Abit have the better support in europe which gives them a big thumbs up imo. The quality is fantastic also.

Niether boards will dissapoint but the Abit gets my vote
